The First Flip
Stampede Breakfast at Contemporary Calgary
Friday, July 14th | 10 AM-12 PM
On July 14th we are inviting the community of Calgary to saddle up and join Contemporary Calgary at our first flip - for 100 Years, pancakes have become a foundational cornerstone of community building within neighbourhoods across Calgary, flapjacks and maple syrup bringing cowpokes together for generations, and we could not be more excited to join the tradition of hosting a Stampede Pancake Breakfast and welcoming our neighbours to join us.
From 10 AM until 12 PM with the help of the Calgary Stampede Batter Boys, we will be rustling up a free traditional breakfast of pancakes and sausage, although donations are encouraged to support the art of community building which we bring to life year round here at Contemporary Calgary.
All those cowpokes who join us on July 14th are also encouraged to view our current exhibitions, including Ksahkomiitapiiks, Diane Arbus, and Carol Sawyer.
Contemporary Calgary is also excited to display a special collection of saddles from the Calgary Stampede Archives which, each one being a unique example of Western craftsmanship, and most importantly each saddle having been used by a trailblazer within the City of Calgary.
FREE to the public. Donations welcome.
