From powerfully intimate portraits to site specific fabric installations, Contemporary Calgary is thrilled to announce three solo exhibitions by Simone Elizabeth Saunders, Corri-Lynn Tetz and Maya Beaudry presented by RBC. Opening November 4, 2021, these three exhibitions underpin a deeper understanding of feminine perspectives and share a tactile synergy across the artists’ respective mediums of drawing, painting, textile, photography and sculpture.
In partnership with the Organization of Bipolar Affective Disorder (OBAD), Contemporary Calgary will also present Perspectives From Within, a major group exhibition featuring visual artwork critically engaging with mental health. All the exhibits are based on lived experience including depression, anxiety, addiction, self-harm, bipolar disorders and schizophrenia. Curated by Dick Averns, this project is produced by SITEcPROJECTS, the creative arm of OBAD.
This is an in-person program. Masks are mandatory, and physical distancing will be maintained. Contemporary Calgary requires visitors ages 12 and older to provide proof of vaccination, documentation of medical exemption, or a negative PCR or rapid test within the last 72 hours in order to enter the gallery.
