Immerse yourself in the world of contemporary art as we extend our hours for a special evening of exploration and creativity. Explore our galleries, indulge in thoughtfully crafted beverages by Sugar Water Bar and groove to the beats of local DJ Joash Charles, setting the perfect vibe for the evening.
We are excited to introduce Happy Hour with Sugar Water Bar from 5-6 PM. Join us at the beginning of the evening for sweet discounts on some of your favourite beverages (18+ only).
Special Announcement:
This month, our FREE First Thursdays event concludes a bit earlier as we host BREADMAKER's annual holiday special, "GOOD TIDINGS." Join us as we celebrate and showcase a group of extraordinary artists for their season finale, with net proceeds benefiting the Alex Community Health Centre.
Event Schedule:
5-6 PM: Happy Hour with Sugar Water Bar (18+ only).
5-8 PM: Explore our current exhibitions, and enjoy drinks by Sugar Water Bar and music from DJ Joash Charles.
5-7 PM: Enjoy a special exhibition in our grotto curated by BREADMAKER.
8 PM onward: Join us for BREADMAKER's "GOOD TIDINGS" holiday special. Tickets required.

Joash Charles
Joash Charles is a DJ based out of Calgary.
His DJ sets can be described as a mixture of turntablism techniques, instrumental blends and a lot of clever wordplay. You can also expect to hear homemade remixes and edits falling somewhere between rap, afrobeats and house. Finding his roots in hip-hop, he is well versed in genres such as boom bap, RnB, rap and trap music (yes, both mumble rap and bass bangers).
Joash Charles placed 2nd place at the Red Bull 3Style Canadian finals in 2020.
Joash Charles has been billed to play parties with acts such as Skratch Bastid, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Jayemkayem and DJ Marvel. He has also played direct support for names such as RL Grime, Grandtheft, Jillionaire (Major Lazer), Thugli, Jarreau Vandal and DJ Maseo. Joash has graced many rooms throughout Canada, including Calgary's own world-renowned Hifi Club, Toronto's APT 200 and Vancouver's Fortune Sound Club.
Sugar Water Bar
Kyo-Jean Chung started Sugar Water in 2015 as a way of exploring his love for finely crafted cocktails. He has a curiosity for powerful elixirs that percolate ideas and bring people to common ground. His knack for befriending talented people in all realms of culinary arts, mixology, and event planning helps him cultivate fresh ideas and inspired service. He has managed to find the perfect balance between friendliness, professionalism, and lightness throughout his life as an entrepreneur.
