Calgary on Purpose
Calgary on Purpose and Contemporary Calgary invite you to an evening of conversation and connection on September 13 from 7:00 to 9:30 PM.
Join us for an evening of rich conversations about the current reality and the future possibilities for our beloved city.
To launch our time together we will present six creative Calgarians reflecting on our city, the people who live here and their personal journeys as neighbours in this place.
We will begin at 7 PM with Sable Sweetgrass reading her beautiful poem ‘Mohkinstis”. She will be followed by short performances from Calgary poet Laureate Wakefield Brewster, Diana Cohen, violinist and Concertmaster of the Calgary Philharmonic and husband pianist Roman Rabinovich, theatre artist Col Cseke, and Lloyd Summers creator of over 200 mobile apps, games and XR experiences. Following their presentations, Dave Kelly will briefly interview each presenter before opening the conversation to the audience. A reception will follow at 8:30 pm to meet, mingle and continue to share perceptions and ideas.
This event is free to the public and requires registration so we can guarantee your seat. We encourage you to share this invitation with friends, family and fellow Calgarians.
